Welcome to 2018 my friends. I meant to write this post last year, but didn’t get a chance. It seems even more apt now since we’re enveloped in this cold vortex that has descended on the land. That Anthropologie sofa pictured above is delicious, isn’t it?

Whilst I am not opposed to Pantone’s saturated choice of ultraviolet for color of the year, I am leaning toward the sunnier side of the color wheel, hence mellow yellow or some might call it mustard yellow. You can see a bit of its use in Cheyenne’s nursery and I love the vibrance it adds to a space. Whether used on walls or in accent pieces, mellow yellow is sure to put a smile on your face and enliven your mood especially in these dreary and sometimes depressing Winter months.

I have a thing for yellow plant pots. The plants seem to pop even more.
