Hello everyone and welcome to another round of the amazing One Room Challenge. In case you may not know what the One Room Challenge is- it is where 20 designers/bloggers are invited to transform a space over a six week period. Each Wednesday we detail our progress until the finale on November 6th. Though I’ve participated in the One Room Challenge before when I tackled the Master Bedroom many years ago, I am ecstatic to be participating again. Thank you to Linda for inviting me and for once again putting together another stellar round of the ORC.
for inviting me and for once again putting together another stellar round of the ORC.
I guess I was feeling quite ambitious this round, because I am not transforming just one space, but the entire Master suite! The bedroom will only receive cosmetic updates; no repainting etc., but I have big plans for the Master bathroom and the Master walk in closet. The first pic shows the current state of the Master bathroom.
It used to be this color until I was so tired of looking at it like this, I gave it a quick makeover when I was pregnant with Cheyenne and painted it a dark color to create a moody look.
However, that was a temporary fix and ideally I wanted to give it a gut job and replace everything. Guess what? With this makeover, I plan to do just that. I want to really brighten it up and make it feel more expansive and airy. Here are a few more before pics:
I can’t wait to get rid of these dark tiles in the shower!
These vanities take up so much visual space and square footage and I hope to replace them with smaller ones. I will definitely be sharing lots more about the design process in Week 2, but right now, let’s move on to the before of the Master walk in closet.
Yikes! Sorry you had to see that! The walk in closet is only 10 x 8 and is actually right off the Master bathroom so you have to enter the bathroom in order to get to the closet. Like the Master bathroom, I plan to lighten up the closet especially since there are no windows. I’ll be ripping out the carpet and definitely doing something with those walls! More about all this in Week 2; now on to some pretty pics. Let’s check out the inspiration I gathered for these spaces:
Be sure to tune in next Wednesday as I break down the design process! Can’t wait to share! Until then, kindly visit the other featured designers as they also unveil the space(s) they plan to transform. xx
