Halloween season is creeping closer, and around here that means one thing: the skeletons are getting restless. If you’ve followed my Halloween styling over the years, you already know they’re the stars of the show; climbing, lounging, causing mischief, and generally acting like they own the place. And honestly, I love them for it. is year, I’m planning to build on the scenes I styled last Halloween. Those setups were some of my favorites: moody lighting, dramatic shadows, playful skeleton antics, and that perfect mix of spooky and whimsical take on Halloween that I love !

Here’s a peek at what I have in mind for this year’s Halloween setup:
The 12‑Foot Skeleton (The Neighborhood Icon)
Of course, Skeletor(as he’s affectionately called around here) will be making an appearance. This 12 ft giant skeleton has become a tradition at this point. Although more homes have him on display these days in their yards, the neighborhood kids still seem excited to see him when he is up. This year, I’m planning to give him a fresh storyline and maybe a new position in the yard to make him feel even more commanding.
Pose & Stay Skeletons (The Chaos Crew)
These posable skeletons are my favorite for storytelling. Last year they climbed walls, lounged on steps, and created little moments of mischief throughout the yard.
I’ll be recreating some of those scenes again, and adding a few new poses to keep things fun and unexpected.
Of course the painted pumpkins and monster door will be making appearances. They’re a tradition at this point! These giant spiders are a bit hidden in this image, but i love sprinkling them throughout the yard or attaching them to surfaces as if they’re climbing.
