blue color drenched living room

Do you remember when I mentioned that I was making some changes…?-well tada! Ever since I started color drenching a few spaces in our home and noticed how much I love the results.(see here and here), i’ve been toying with the idea of color drenching our living room. It’s an expansive space and the high vaulted ceiling was just begging to be drenched in a color. I finally did it-well not me-i outsourced the painting job since it’s such a high ceiling. Let’s take a quick look at the before

bold and colorful living room

I absolutely loved this version and since the living room is in the center of our home and one can get a peek into the other spaces from it, i decided to stay with the color blue for the refresh/color drench. I’ve found that blue plays well with other colors, but i wanted a deeper blue, and one that was just dark enough. The space gets beautiful light from the adjoining sunroom and foyer.

After researching a sea of blues, i settled on I’ve Got the Blues by Benjamin Moore.

And I love the results! I’m always so amazed at how fresh the existing furniture feels against a new color.

I also painted the doors that adjoin the sunroom in a contrasting green.
